had the opportunity to run the usatf 8k this morning. would have liked to have done more with it, but very happy to have had the chance. the race can be summed up as a 4:58 mile, followed by some stuff that was a lot more comfortable for someone 3 weeks away from a marathon. basically, this should have been a lot better, regardless of where i am in my training.
one more item that may have caught some people's attention. for the record, i sent in my entry for this race thru ray biersbach, who is the head of the manhattan track club. i showed up in the results as running for them. this was more clerical than factual.
and here's something i bet you didn't know: i was the first person this morning to cross the line whose dog pooped on his warmups before the race (i wore different warmups to the race.) |
